Graduation Day Tips from Melissa at Voth Photography in Kelowna BC
Graduation is an very exciting milestone, and preparation is helpful to ensuring a smooth and memorable day. Here are some essential tips to help you make the most of your graduation ceremony and day!
Before the Ceremony
Arrive Early - Timing: Aim to arrive 60-90 minutes before the ceremony to navigate parking, crowds, and security. - Comfort: Wear comfortable shoes for all the walking and standing. If you're in heels, consider bringing a pair of flats.
Meeting Spot - Designate a Meeting Point: Set a specific location to meet your family after the ceremony, as you may get separated in the crowd.
Stay Hydrated - Water: Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated. - Stay Cool: If it’s a hot day, consider a small portable fan to keep cool.
Prep Your Attire - Cap: Wear your cap flat on your head, centering the front point on your forehead. Use bobby pins to secure it. - Gown: Ensure it falls between your knee and ankle for a polished look. - Hood: Use safety pins to help keep your hood in place.
Tassel Protocol - Tassel Placement: Start with your tassel on the right side and move it to the left after receiving your diploma.
